Re: Yard Labels

While I'd like to be organized enough to keep a list, I'm afraid I belong to
the "Undisciplined" group. Markers from the nurseries get stored in a baggie
in case I need to refer to them. I found I kept tearing out all kinds of
goodies along with the weeds in the spring...Memory is definitely not what
it used to be!..and getting worse. Last summer I found some of the dark
green markers I think were originally intended for vegetables, and they
disappear into the foliage really well, but they're there when I need them.
Also this spring I've used bits of broken clay pots labelled with a
waterproof marker and stuck into the soil by the plant. They are unobtrusive
as well and it helps. Especially if the plant is close to where the remnants
of an annual are...and in my enthusiasm to clean up, things that have not
"greened up" often got tossed.

With all this rain, water was squelching into the top my shoes this morning!
Gave up and went in to read a book. The "damp area" in my back garden is
soggy soggy soggy! Hope things don't drown.
