Heirloom Old Garden Roses
OK you lovers of Heirloom OGR-just wanted to let you know that I went
there Mothers Day (I live about a half hour drive away) and got to hand
pick through the sales greenhouse.
I came away with 2 Jude the Obscure, 2 cl Iceberg, Bella Donna, which is
not in the catalog because they have grown just a few,2 Graham Thomas
and 2 Pompon de Bourgener-once bloomers that are in bloom now with
absolutely sweet double roses about 1 and a half inch accross-they are
going in front of my new arbor on either side, backed by Rhodys which
are in bloom now also, and I will be digging iris in later in the season.
If ever you get to Oregon-it must be in the spring/summer and you
absolutely have to go there-then take a side trip to Schreibers Iris
farm (where I ordered the iris I want for the fall from seeing them in
bloom now) and the Lafayette Antique stores(weere I bought a hideously
ornately fabluous carved buffet to put the tv on and store videos in)
I had a nice but expensive Mothers day`
