Re: Collecting Euphorbia seeds
Marge,
Thanks for the great info. When I got to my sister's house last Saturday
to place the nylons, some of the fuzzy yellow things (located at the
center of the flower) had already started to fall. I collected these -
some that fell off in my hand and a few that were already on the ground.
The flowers had changed from bright yellow to green, but still looked in
good shape - not drying up.
I just now tried to open one up to see if anything was inside. What
happened was the lower part fell off leaving a small yellow ball. I
tried to cut this open to see if anything was inside, but ended up with
lots of little pieces of the yellow stuff. Therefore, my guess is that
this yellow ball must be the seed. Either that or they aren't dry enough
yet.
Great idea about covering pots with screens!
As far as maybe repotting my Bluestone order - I don't know why I didn't
think of that. Not exactly a tough solution to think of! But it doesn't
surprise me. My brain took a vacation a long time ago - "Of all the
things I've lost, I miss my brain the most!" as my husband likes to
say.
Thanks again,
Karen
