Hi Shelly,
I have grown this easily from seed-- bought excellent seed from "Seeds of
Change." I've seen the plant in 4-6" pots at Portland Nursery on Stark
Street.
N. sylvestris certainly doesn't overwinter here (it is very frost-tender).
I can't tell you whether mine reseeded or not, as the bed that it was in got
weedy and this spring I sortof started over with it. Following
weed-digging, amending, mulching, etc., I haven't seen any sign of and
re-seeds, and fear I disrupted the soil tool much and/or buried the seeds
too deep (assuming they were trying to germinate in the first place)
It is a gorgeous plant, and very fragrant in the cool of the young evening
hours. I would strongly advise you to plant in a location where you'll be
able to enjoy this aspect of the plant, or at least park a chair or bench
next to it!
Sue.
