Crownsville Nursery and We-Du also have nice salvia selections.
One of my favorites of the winter-hardy salvias is one that's too often
underappreciated for its flowers: common garden sage, Salvia officinalis. Because
it's semi-woody it doesn't flop over like many of the other salvias such as the S.
nemerosa cultivars ('Blue Queen,' 'Red Queen,' etc.). The blue-green foliage is
also attractive -- as well as handy for the kitchen! -- when the plant isn't in
bloom.
