Hello All,
Does anyone grow this plant or know if this is a proper name? It appeared in
T&M last year without the Beaujolais and with a great photograph. T&M
describes it at 18 inches.
Today I bought one in one of the one quart perennial selections that are
everywhere now in the early spring ( a good idea - very reasonable ). My tag
says 24 to 36 inches. It also says drained soil - not the moisture of other
lysimachias. T&M says zone 6, my tag says zones 3 to 8.
The photos show a plant with "claret-red" spikes called highly unusual by
T&M. Searching around for some information, I find over thirty species
listed and this one conspicuously missing. It is on some lists but not in
any databases. New plants appear every year, it is so difficult to stay
current.
It looks like an attractive plant even if it has some relatives with bad
reputations.
