RE: Tilling when wet

Karen, Our extension agent says to use this simple test. Pick up a handful
of soil and squeeze it to make a ball. If the ball sticks together like
glue, its too wet. If the soil ball can be broken by an easy flick of the
finger, it is just right for tilling. If you cant' squeeze the soil into a
ball that will stay together, its too dry. Hope this helps.

soil, so I'm not used to working with it. >>

===>Karen, another expert may be able to tell you a simple test to try, but
I
know that if the soil in Gallipolis is as damp as it is here in Cincinnati,
which I suspect it is, you shouldn't be tilling this weekend.
