Hi Claire and Myrna,
We live in Little Canada a small suburb north of St. Paul, Minnesota
zone 4ab. This spring we broke rain records for the month of May. We
just ended eight days of rain getting 3-4 inches. Myrna you said they
start from bits of root. I thought that they were spreading from
seed. Last summer we divided a huge bluet but I don't know how the
root could get to all the different places it is coming up. One even
popped up under a maple tree in the shade. The thing I liked about
the bluet besides it pretty blue color and interesting flower is it
was one of our first blooming perennials. Now I wish the rabbits
liked it.
