RE: Liatris question

Paul,

I just planted some here in Indiana (zone 5). I did plant them about 6
inches deep.  Once they begin to sprout, should I dig them and move them
up higher?

I have terrible clay soil that holds water. I have been amending it with
horse manure and compost but since I just moved here last year, it has
been a rather slow process.
