Hi Monica,

Peonies don't like to be transplanted any time of the year, but if 
you absolutely must do it in the spring, try to take as much soil 
along as possible.  Plant will look bad this year (and maybe next), 
but it's really not that easy to kill a peony.  If you can wait until 
late August or Sept, it would be better, but not essential.
