Chris, you certainly are keeping busy planting! Looks like we do like some of the same plants, If interested, here's what I experienced w some of them... Anchusa capensis 'Blue Angel', from 2 different sources last year, bloomed well, then sort of flamed out, didn't return this year Echinacea 'Pow Wow Wild Berry' was more vigorous than 'Pow Wow White'. Now third year, white is far behind Berry. Rudbeckia fulgida var. sullivantii 'Goldsturm' -I've had it for 20 yrs, always performs well, spreads pretty quickly. Silene dioica 'Clifford Moor' grew gangbusters first couple of years, then just sort of disappeared. Silene uniflora 'Druett's Variegated' quickly reverted to green. I got a flat of Pussytoes today, Antennaria parvifolia. I've killed them before, so this time I'm going to pick up some grit to make the soil leaner before repotting and planting. Any other suggestions? Kitty -----Original Message----- From: owner-perennials@hort.net [o*@hort.net] On Behalf Of Christopher P. Lindsey Sent: Wednesday, May 13, 2015 10:01 PM To: perennials@hort.net Subject: More new plants for my garden I went back to that place with the $2.50 perennials and loaded up on some more! A friend wanted to buy me some, so who am I to turn down free plants? Here's what I grabbed today: 2 Alchemilla mollis 'Thriller' 1 Anchusa capensis 'Blue Angel' 2 Astible simplicifolia 'Hennie Granfland' 2 Ceratostigma plumbaginoides 2 Dianthus gratianopolitanus 'Tiny Rubies' 1 Echinacea 'Pow Wow White' 2 Echinacea 'Pow Wow Wild Berry' 1 Geranium 'Johnson's Blue' 1 Hosta 'Ann Kulpa' 1 Hosta 'Dream Queen' 1 Hosta 'Patriot' 1 Hosta 'Wide Brim' 2 Iris sibirica 'Snow Queen' 1 Rudbeckia fulgida var. sullivantii 'Goldsturm' 1 Rudbeckia hirta 'Marmalade' 1 Sedum reflexum 'Blue Spruce' 1 Sedum spectabile 'Pink Bomb' 1 Silene dioica 'Clifford Moor' 1 Silene uniflora 'Druett's Variegated' 2 Waldsteinia ternata Probably 1/2 of these are plants that I've grown before and killed (usually the dogs did it), another 1/4 are plants that I just want more of, and the rest are 'why not'. Anyhow, I thought I'd share. Who else has new plants? I know Kitty shared her list; anyone else?
