I have not been pulling any up but may just do a little editing.  It is not S. aurata.  That is not a petite leaf.  I will take another picture with scale later today. 
Really it is so small only very small plants would be endangered by it.  But I am seeing so many plants that are taking over my woody areas...hellebores, Virginia creeper, tree seedlings.  A lot need to go because the good wildflowers are being crowded out.  Just shows what 2 good moisture years can do.  Love the look of the ferns this year.  Just need more.  Nancy
