Diana,
       Since you seem to know about lilacs, I live is zone 8b, is there any
hope that Icould grow lilacs that will bloom here? I've read that some of the
early blooming asian varieties don't require as much chilling to bloom as the
later spring flowering  types. I don't what variety names to look for? Can any
one give me some guidance?
