Re: Those slimey slugs and snails!

When I was a child, I remember telling a next door neighbor about the
salt-on-snails trick.  She was a vegetarian and animal lover, who didnt
want to hurt the snails.  She really couldnt forgive me for what
happened to the poor snails, when she poured on the salt.  (I guess she
thought they would just faint, or something.)

Here in the forested Sierra foothills, we have huge banana slugs, 6 in.
long and more.  I have been smashing them because they look so
threatening to my plants.  Can anyone tell me what they actually eat?
