There is a spray available that kills bugs by dissolving their outer
skeleton. It should work between rains because getting the spray on the bug
once will kill it. I can't remember any brand names, but the active
ingredient is a phosphate salt. It is not a chemical insectcide, but most
stores that carry pesticides will have it, so if you have trouble finding
it, ask a salesperson. The directions say to apply it once a week until the
infestation goes away. It kills aphids dead.
