Hi, Jill:
While it is always risky to disagree with tags, this time I do. Everything I have seen on Hydrangea serrata says they like part-shade.'Bluebird' sounds special with pink sterile flowers surrounding blue fertile flowers in the center. This particular cultivar is supposed to be particularly drought tolerant.
The Plant of the Month, ( Hydrangea s.
'Preziosa') on my website "Adventures in Gardening," (www.gardenguy.com) might be of interest to
you. The pictures show the same plant during the course of a season. Just click
to enlarge the pix.

Dear
Listmembers,
I just purchased Hydrangea serrata 'Blue
Bird'. The culture requirements
say full sun and will reach 3-5
feet.
