Jill,
Your hydrangea is of an easy and strong kind, but I'd rather plant it on
dappled shade. Here in Z9 can be grown in full sun, with more flowers than
in shade, but I guess your summer is hotter and the sun stronger than in our
humid and oceanic climate...
If your soil is neutral or slightly alkaline, you know you can get blue
flowers applying aluminium sulfate...
