I asked before about my red-flowered Burkwood's Broom, but I just found
the label, so I can now give the correct name: Cystisus x dallimorei
'Burkwoodii'. Since the Native Plant Society has been worried about some
brooms, can anyone tell me if I should be worried about this one? I am
happy to be able to plant and grow various things in my small garden,
but it is surrounded by Yellow Pine and Black Oak forest, and I don't
want to add any exotic plants to the surrounding natives. If no one
here can tell me about the potential this one has for spreading, I can
contact the Cal. Native Plant Society. (Thanks to the person who posted
the "Plant Species of Concern" URL; I see several plants there which I
should watch, including my one little Gypsophila which has been
surviving, barely. I think the deer like it.)
