Yes - I chop my clumps back to the ground several times (2-4) in the season and they spring up again and flower away all summer.

Tell me about it!!! I was hoping that furious chopping would reduce the self seeding but I guess I already have lots of dormant seeds in the soil ready to sprout in my old neglected (and being rescued/nurtured now by me I may add!) cottage garden. Still I love the plant and many things seed very well on my light soil here. This includes buddleia incidentally although I'd never say it was a problem!
