Last year once I thought I'd put some of the leaves from my lamb's ear in an
arrangement in water. I did so and then kept noticing little puddles near the
vase despite repeatedly wiping them up. Finally, I realized that the lamb's
ears were wicking the water out of the vase, becoming completely saturated,
and dripping the excess off the tips of the leaves onto the table. I guess
this doesn't happen if you pick the flower stalk?
