I grow Delphiniums of any type and size because my mother had the most
fabulous luck with them. We lived on Larkspur Road and she grew an
enormous patch of them near the house for the namesake road. A childhood
neighbor told me recently that my mother was the only person she knew who
could keep the delphiniums coming back year after year.

My mother's been dead for 13 years and my father just sold the childhood
home, so I am reminded of her care and joy by growing my own larkspur.
