Nothing of note regarding the horseflies, but I can tell you that the
herbicide Crossbow will kill horsetail. My entryway is/was covered in
it, and after 2 years of applying Crossbow, I'll probably be able to
plant next year. Granted, I only get it applied once or twice per
season because I simply don't have the time.
Is there any significance that both your problems are 'horse' related?
