I've just been on holiday and was able to visit Christopher Lloyd's
wonderful garden at Great Dixter in Sussex. I bought quite a few plants
and some of them I don't know anything about, so I wondered if anybody
would be able to help me (they aren't in my gardener's encyclopedia
either). I would really like to know what sort of growing conditions they
will need.
Helianthemum Red Orient
Isoplexis Canariensis Isabelliana (he did say this is not hardy so will
need to be grown in a pot to be brought in overwinter).
Fuchsia Magellanica Aurea
Thermopsis Villosa
Euphorbia Schillingii (am I right in remembering that some Euphorbia's can
be thugs and spread all over the place. Does anyone know if this is one?)
I also bought a Euphorbia Griffithii Fireglow - is this also a thug? (I've
probably got this wrong and it's some other plant.)
Thanks for your help. I've really enjoyed reading this list for the last
couple of months, and have learnt so much from it.
