Re: Snapdragons
Our garden snapdragons (Antirrhnum majus) are from the Mediterranean region and
are perennials, botanically, but grown as annuals because they usually won't
make it through a wet northern winter. But sometimes they do - as on the south
side of my mother-in-law's house in Rockford, Illinois where the heat and
drainage was "Mediterranean". And they would reseed there, too, but produce sort
of yucky looking flowers. To get the gorgeous colors and specific sizes, it's
better to start with named varieties of seed every year (or buy them in flats).
