Re: deadheading

I'm still gathering seed. I would prune them, but if I do I won't have
any seed so therefore I am sacrificing the second blooming for the
seed. This is the first time for the columbine for me, so I don't even
know if I'll have a second blooming.
your seasons sound like mine in Mississippi. we always have nice
weather until Christmas then it begans to get cooler, by Feb it's cold
and from then on it's colder. We never have much snow "if any". for the
past 2 years we've had ice storms that does terrible damage to the
timber.
Last Dec. we had several weeks of real cold weather, then after
Christmas it turned warm, I'm talking in the 70's my royal star
magnolia and saucer magnolia was in full bloom and it came an artic
blast and my blooms were history. I almost cried. after that it was
warm again and then cold again. we have some pretty weird weather.
you never know wheather to wear shorts or drag out you thermal
underwear.
this spring has been confusing. I've planted and then worried because
I didn't know what tomorrows weather was gonna be.... We are having a
very mild, seasonable, lenghty spring, with a good rain fall and the
conditions are good, I'm afraid to get to comfortable for fear of the
coming summer. right now everything is looking good, so I'm gonna go
with that.
