Well, I've had one in a pot for about 15 years. Summers outside in
mostly shade and winters inside in a sunny window just fine if I
remember to water it.
Nan is right, it develops fairly nasty thorny bits that are not
really visible, but will get you if you make the mistake of running
your fingers through the foliage.
If you have yours in the ground, just dig it up and pot it up; if
it's in a pot, just bring it inside..now...as they aren't all that
fond of cold.
Pretty tough plants, I've abused mine for years and it keeps on
living and, when I remember to treat it at all nicely, growing
luxuriantly.
