Yes, Marilyn, I will agree with you. It is popular here but not in ordinary
gardens, no doubt due the cost. I first saw this plant in North Hill Garden
in Vermont which is occasionally open to the public. There was a lot of
looking and admiring so I ambled over and have not changed my opinion yet.
I really could not see why the admiration. It does not flower, it does not
like companions, if damaged (easily damaged) the damage is carried for the
season ( zone 4 here), It does not like full sun or shade. And, if you find
a spot for it, it grows very large and nothing else will grow under it.
Other than those few things, I guess it is a cut above a burdock.
