EVA: I have grown a Rumex sanguineus for a number of years, a spinach like
leaf with alot of red veining. Should this be the same plant, know that it
reseeds generously, yet in my opinion is worthy of keeping.
Excuse, but I just pulled out Plant Delights 2000 catalog and it says "
Rumexsanguineus ssp. sanguineus.....Bloody dock has narrow green leaves with
brilliant red veining......In cooler clomates, you may get seed, which should
be true...a real show stopper! In warmer climates there won't be much sexual
activity, so sit on your bloody dock and drink a Bloody Mary!"
Yup, that's the one I have in zone 6b.
