Re Larkspur

Very interesting the discussion regarding the state of big business versus
the specialist grower, and you can certainly see it happening over here, but
i do believe that quality, variety, helpful advice, and even personality all
have a place in keeping people true to their perennial (and shrub) nurseries.
Quite amusing reading Gene being gently 'encouraged' to use annuals, and I
have to say I love larkspur, In a recent edition of our TV prog 'Gardeners
World' when they were announcing the top 10 garden plants Delphinium+larkspur
came about 6 or 7, but they interviewed a grower, who grows vast fields of
larkspur, as a crop, to dry and use for confetii, (the fields looked
wonderful), he had vast hangars for drying, sorting into different colour
ranges etc. Must admit i didn't fancy doing the picking! By the way Lillies
came no1 which I think surprised a lot people, with roses no2.
Anyway, Gene, I think larkspur will be a great addition
