I am sorry am so late in getting into the converstion...been away from the PC.
I have tremendous success starting seeds of all kinds in the basement under gro-bulbs. The temp in my basement stays at 50F all winter and it's just enough to retard growth and keep them from getting lanky. (I do pinch back some if they get to vigorous). My neighbor and I were thinkiing about doing something similar at a PTA sale this spring. Offline, can you tell your pricing statagy?
PS I also manage a bud or two the first season on the perrenials that I start on New Years day. (planting on New Year's Day is my own personal tradition for good luck!) but I pinch the buds off.
