Re: perennials list owner?

I've been looking at the responses to this with interest. I think
when people subscribe to the list they get a note telling them who
to send mail to if they need to contact the list owner (I think it's
owner-perennials@mallorn.com), but nobody seems to remember that. If
people have concerns, they should probably address them to the list
owner directly, not to the whole list.

Let's get back to perennials too, ok? I don't care how much so and
so's machine cost, whether or not someone thinks someone else needs
a new monitor, etc. I'm interested in perennial gardening, pure
and simple.

Now, a perennials question.

Now that the winter months are here, I'm going to start designing the
deck and yard for my new house. I'm setting up a drafting table
in the basement (once I move some stuff around :), so that I can work
on it, but I'd like to come up with a good and interesting palette
of plants. I have many in mind already, but experience has shown me
that the people on this list can always teach me something new.

What kind of plants would _you_ recommend for a water garden in the
shade? What about dry, acidic soil that's shaded? What about dry,
sunny, clay soil? Irrigation may be an option as well...

Thanks,

Chris
