Oooh, that sounds perfect for me. I have plenty of shady nooks,
especially along the treeline right by the (proposed) deck. Great spot
for a fragrant plant! To make it even better, my books also say that
the foliage has a bad odor that repels bugs.

I've tried this one, but without success. For some reason mine doesn't
want to anything other than put out foliage and grow 8" tall... It's
in full sun, somewhat clayey soil. Do you amend yours at all?

The leaves are typical for Heuchera, but tend to be much larger with sharp
teeth. The stems and leaf-stalks are extremely hairy, as are the underside
of the leaf veins. Leaves are usually just a plain green, but their size
makes them highly noticeable. Reminds me a little of Lady's Mantle.

The flowers are also some of the largest for the genus -- they form spires
up to 4' high with 2/5" individual yellow-green-red flowers.

They perform splendidly in dry, sunny locations.
