You're probably thinking of the regular hops vine, which is a perennial
isn't it? I grew an annual, Japanese variegated hops vine this summer,
started from seed, and the thing went crazy - completely overran the 4 ft.
fence I was hoping to cover! I'm also in zone 5. Linda, Idaho, Zone 5
