Hi Janice
I think you might have something there about the fertilizer.  The first summer
I grew Delphiniums I didn't lose any.  I also didn't fertilize much.  The
second year I grew them I fertilized and lost all of them during the summer
even though they were in a shady spot.  The second summer got about 5 degrees
hotter so I am not sure if what killed them was the heat or the fertilizer.
Any comments from anyone?
