Just returned from a few weeks out of town. Saw the thread on favorite
spring blooming plants. I can't speak highly enough about Polygonatum
x hybridum 'Variegatum' - variegated Solomon's Seal. This is primarily
a foliage plant, but it does have tiny little white bells dangling along
its elegant length. One of our experts probably knows where you can
see pictures of it. This plant compliments any companion -- hostas,
ferns, bleeding hearts, iris, rodgersia, shrubs. It's also primarily a
shade plant, but some roots crept into the sun by a climbing rose that
gets full sun until 1:00 or so. Through our worst weeks of heat, the
Solomon's Seal showed no signs of flagging or scorching. Easy and
beautiful.
