Hi Anne,
    There are 3 species of Solomon's Seals native to this area and two can be
found in many catalogs. One of these three species is the Giant SS and can easily
reach 9 feet in arching height. Quite a show.
    There are so many species in this family and it is a shame more do not show up
on this side of the Pond for our gardens. I have been collecting them for a few
years now and always on the look out for the next one for the garden and/or
nursery. In addition to your Variegated version it is not too difficult to locate
the dwarf version P. humile. Real sweetie only getting about six inches in height.
P. multiflorum is a European version of our species P. biflorum with about twice
the number of blooms on each stem.
    There are double bloomers, dwarf variegateds, pink, rose and violet colored
blooms, thread-leaf versions... the list goes on and on.
    Then there are the related families of Disporums, Twisted Stalks, False
Solomon Seals........
