RE: container gardening

Don't forget lilies and other bulbs! They adapt well to container
gardening and their form is hard to duplicate elsewhere. I like bringing
the heady perfume of the oriental lilies right on the patio at nose level.
In the evening when you're most likely to sit on your patio in the summer,
these lilies are at their best. Try the classic 'Casa Blanca' to glow in
the moonlight with nicotiana at it's feet. Plant some others around
brugmansias for a double whammy.

Just remember that lilies can be heavy feeders. Not only would you want to
incorporate some slow-release granules in the soil and water in some
water-soluble about once a week.
