We're in for our first freeze warning tonight here in SE Wisconsin Zone
5 - Fall clean up is a minimal thing for me too - except taking in the
tender ones. I don't like to cut things back unless they've drooped
over my paths around the yard. I leave them for the winter interest
they provide covered with snow. I'll cut and gather my leaves with my
leaf sucking tractor and use them as mulch on my beds - but that's it.
My tricyrtis is covered with buds, but none blooming. I'll have to
cover it tonight to protect it. Last year I forgot and it was a lump of
brown in the morning . . . .
