That's what I'm doing now, Claire, and behind the barn too.  It is in danger of becoming a mountain!  I don't know whether the weeds at the bottom have rotted or not. What I don't want to do is add weeds back where I've dug them out.  I fear those roots are going to find sustenance and live forever in those piles.
