Good luck with the holiday and good sense of humor. We owned a house in
Delmar, New York which had a provision in the deed that prohibited us from
brewing spirits on the land or selling spirits or assisting in any way trade
in spirits. The serving of spirits was prohibited. It had been a farm built
down the road from a still existing and thriving Methodist church. Several
other covenants were on that deed including one that prohibited the owner of
the land giving water to any persons in the area engaged in the making of
spirits.
The covenant was over 175 years old and I often wondered if anyone cared at
this point. A list of thing that could be traded or sold was on deed, spirits
were definately out.
