Re: Sorbaria sorbifolia

Hi Connie,
sounds better and better,

I think what I will do in the spring is pot it on into a LARGE pot and grow it on while I work on the area I want to make my shrub bed. Sounds too big for my main bed, but even the little 12-18" plant is lovely and graceful.....

Hi Cheryl,
yes I have this one for about 2yrs now(also have S.kirilowii AKA S.arborea)
I like them very much;very hardy, very attractive to my taste anyway, however
give it room(5-10'H,wider at maturity) and expect suckering..
Lovely white upright, spirea type flowers in June-July..
(S.arboreas flowers droop wisteria fashion)..
New growth reddish..
Needs well drained soil but tolerant of heat and dry soils, which is what I
have here in my zone 6..
One of the first to leaf out in spring too..
Lovely but needs the space ..
I saw this one growing in Anchorage Alaska which verifies its zone 2
rating....
Hope you like it as much as I do.
Connie

 Hi!
I was recently gifted with this, Sorbaria sorbifolia, and it sitting
in the holding bed for the winter.
Does any one grow it and have any advice. I've been able to find a
 little bit on the web.
