Re: Happy fall


I lucked out, the only frost damage I had from last nights hard freeze was
some browning on the banana trees, Frangipani and Impatiens were untouched.
Hopefully the ladybugs from hell are gone now.  I don't know why but for the
last 5-10 years my garden seems to be more frost tolerant even though I have
fewer trees.  I think it's because of all the company my plants have, a
mature garden with all of the neighbors open yards for the cold air to
settle in.   Most of them have so much unused spaces that they have to
resort to planting grasses that they have to shear off every week.  Those
grasses produce seed that manage to blow into my garden giving me yet
another type of weed to deal with.  Sheds are so much more useful without a
lawnmower.
