Re: the leaves

We just came back from visiting friends about 3 hours north of Toronto. Colours were probably better than last year. The yellows, rusts, oranges, reds etc. etc. were amazing, especially with the sun on them. I did notice as we drove south today that the colours were more and more muted the further south we came. We drove through one patch on an old side road that just sparkled, and in that section it looked like a light snowstorm of yellow and red leaves coming down. Sure was glad we made the trip on daylight. Also noticed the huge difference in colour between Wed. driving up and Sun. coming home

Greetings:

We live about 100 miles northwest of NYC, where the leaves should be
fabulous by now.

Instead, I'm seeing them change color, but without the brillance and
vividness one expects.

I'm guessing it's a result of the drought that raged for years, up until
last winter.
