Re: wintering perennials


I am going to break this down because I actually had many of the same
questions myself.

My plan is to start them in pots in the basement and hope that I can

I do not know because I have never tried to do anything with geraniums.

Other gardeners have told me that storing these plants is possible as
well as mulching heavily until you find where you want to put them.  (I
am transplanting some plants to my new home and wanted to be sure that if
I did not get them into the ground they would still live.)  I am told
that hostas and daylilies are very hardy.

As long as the soil is workable and the bulbs have a long enough period
of freezing to be prepared for blooming.
