Re: Time to clean the Perennial bed?
I'm wiped out - spent the morning cutting back the perrenial bed and the
veggie garden. We have not had our first frost yet; I almost wish we
had, dead dry stems are easier to deal with than juicy green ones. The
p. bed looks awful, the only per. blooming is the little orchid-like
Tricyrtis or Toad Lily, but that is tucked under a shrub. I must get
more of these! The leaves of the various cultivars of Pulmonaria look
great, and I will not cut these until Spring.
Question: what sucess does the list have with monkshood? Mine are in
the Per. bed with light shade from about 3 pm on. They bloom weakly in
midsummer, then the plant fades away. Does it require more sun or
moisture than I provide? If you have it and it does well for you, what
is your site like?
