Hands!!!
I have dirt under my callouses, I can wash my hands for ten minutes and there
is still dirt under the skin. Oh well.
Just finished potting up 400 daylilies for next year Now all I have to do is
finish up the Peonies and Then I can put every one away for the winter.
The Asters and the Monkshood's look good this year along with the Ornamental
grasses.
Its been a good year for late blooming plants.
Many of the Hosta are blooming for the second time and the Toadlilies are just
fantastic this year.
I really like Aster 'Purple Dome' a great Aster.
Another Late blooming plant I recommend is A turtle head called 'Lipstick'
nice sized pink flowers over nice large dark semi-glossy foliage.
The Eupatorium rugosum 'Chocolate' is blooming and this is another nice plant
with dark foliage, makes a great back ground for light green plants.
A couple of weeks ago I finished planting my green Hosta collection under the
apple tree- looks like I am going to like this collection of plants.
I have a found admiration for large green and green blue Hosta.
So under the apple tree I collect together about 20 different green to green
blue Hosta that grow over 28" tall. Put in some nice large Montana and
Sieboldiana seedlings. Most of these were already about 2-3 feet across. I
expect good things out of this collection. I am constantly on the look out
for good green Hosta. I have an all green form of H.Mildred Seaver that I
really like. Nice round leaves with good substance and veining.
sorry I am rambling--must be the cold weather setting in!!!
