I also cut and pull earlier than looks sane. But it usually turns out
the neighbors are outdoors in the freezing weather a day late and a
dollar short trying to catch up.
I am not too sure about it this year as I have moved further south.
Some things are still too much alive to mess with. I know up in Illinois
the stuff would be looking pretty sick by now. But the fall things seem
to be in full bloom and some things haven't even started yet. Who knows.
I should have a better idea next year.
As for a show of hands on appearance of hands....I'd rather hide mine
in my pockets, when I have some.
One day a salesman met me coming unexpectedly from the side of the
house. I had been weedinng and moving things around. When I came into
the house after getting rid of him and looked at myself, I thought I
could have passed myself off as a bag lady and he would have figured I
was trespassing...Dirty t-shirt, straggly hair, old shoes, mud on my
hands and face! Sheesh, CLEAN nails would be an improvement!
Take care and happy gardening,
Rita
