???, not formosa? I live in 6b and felt confident
after my research that I was fine with the shrub in
my garden (perennially). I'm usually very careful
about zone limit because we have some wicked
winter ice and wind where I live. I'll check it out.
So sorry to get your hopes up!
As to moving, Bill, Oregon's getting darn crowded
so you bettery hurry up and get here!

If yours is flourishing in Z6b, I may have to give it a shot, although we
sometimes have 5a winters. The name was correct--the photo I saw in the AHS
A-Z Encyclopedia of Garden Plants exactly matched your description. It may
be their Zones that are off.
You have milder winters than we do here in Ohio, and I don't think your
summers are as hot and dry as ours (I know you had drought this year). I also
know Oregon is getting crowded--I was there last month for a board meeting of
the American Daffodil Society and spent a lot of time in traffic. The
downtown area and the approaches to it are especially congested, aren't they?
Still, you can grow a lot of things we can't. I doubt there's much, if
anything, that we can grow that won't survive in Oregon. I'm going to have to
look out for Leycesteria.
