I've never heard of Weedblock, but a gardening show I watched once
mentioned that an effective weed barrier is to take a double layer of black
plastic lawn bags and tack them into the ground by using landscaping pins
(looks like giant hairpins). Cover the plastic with rocks/pebbles/brick.
Mulch wasn't recommended because if it rains, the mulch will float around
on the plastic and slide off.
Cheap stuff that is guaranteed to kill whatever's under it and it will
probably take a lifetime or two to decompose.
