Horribly so!  Throughout Tennessee and Kentucky (and elsewhere?) it has completely crowded out and replaced (not just taking advantage of deforested situations) the native -- or any other non-natives -- trees.  Even Siberian elms can't compete with Tree of Heaven.  It's the tree version of purple loosestrife.
